The Bison Joist Saddle Attachment (Model: JS) is a versatile component designed to support 2x and 4x lumber in deck construction. It can be used independently or mounted atop any Bison Pedestal, adding 1/2" (13 mm) in height.
A screw is included for secure attachment to adjustable pedestals. To install, place a joist between the JS walls and fasten it with #8 deck screws (not provided).
Ensure not to overtighten the screw when attaching the JS to an adjustable pedestal.

Model: JS
The Joist Saddle can be used alone or on top of any Bison Pedestal. A screw is included for attachment to adjustable pedestals. It is designed to support 2x joists in one direction and 4x (or staggered 2x) joists in the other direction. Place a joist between the JS walls and attach it with #8 deck screws (NOT provided).
- Place the Joist Saddle alone or on top of any Bison Pedestal. When placed on adjustable pedestals, use the provided screw to fasten the Joist Saddle to the pedestal top. Joist Saddles may be fastened to fixed height pedestals 1/2” or taller with 1” length wood screws.
IMPORTANT: Do not over-tighten the screw when attaching the Joist Saddle to a pedestal. - The Joist Saddle is designed to support 2x joists in one direction and 4x (or double 2x joists in the other direction. Place a joist or beam between the Joist Saddle walls and fasten with #8 x 1” wood screws (NOT provided) on each side. #10 screws are also acceptable. Joists may be coupled or joined in both directions over the Joist Saddle.
