The Simpson Strong-Tie DJT14Z Deck Joist Tie is engineered to securely connect 2x deck joists to the side of 4x or larger support posts, enhancing the structural integrity of your deck.
Constructed from 14-gauge steel with a ZMAX® galvanized coating, it offers superior corrosion resistance, making it ideal for exterior and treated wood applications. The DJT14Z can be installed using either 16d common nails, #10 x 2-1/2 inch Strong-Drive® SD screws, or 5/8 inch diameter machine bolts, providing flexibility during installation.
Its design facilitates easier and stronger connections compared to traditional methods like through-bolting, ensuring a robust and durable deck framework.
Installation
- Use specified HDG fasteners; see General Notes
- Recommended: install on post first
- Minimum 2x4 joist and 4x4 post
Coating
